Israeli forces attack Hebron march held in solidarity with hunger-striking prisoners, injuries reported

HEBRON, May 19, 2017 (WAFA) – A Palestinian Friday was shot and injured with a rubber-coated steel bullet, and others suffocated when Israeli forces attacked Palestinians marching in Hebron city and the nearby Beit Ummar town in solidarity with hunger striking prisoners in Israeli jails, said local sources.

Fatah faction, along with the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), and the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission have called for massive demonstrations after Friday prayers in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike since April 14.

A youth was shot and injured with a rubber-coated steel bullet, whereas many others suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.

Similar marches were witnessed across various West Bank districts.
