Israeli forces detain 18 Palestinians in West Bank raids

JERUSALEM, May 18, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday detained at least 18 Palestinians during predawn raids in several villages and towns across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, said Palestinian security sources and WAFA correspondents.

Israeli police detained three Palestinians during a raid into the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya and another three after storming their homes in the Shufat refugee camp.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops conducted a  raid into Hizma, northeast of Jerusalem, ransacking several homes and detaining four Palestinians.

Troops conducted multiple predawn raids into several Hebron city neighborhoods, al-Arroub refugee camp, Beit Awwa and Surif towns, detaining six Palestinians and wreaked havoc into a number of homes.

In the northern West Bank, troops raided Tulkarem refugee camp, detaining a Palestinian.

A 15-year –old Palestinian minor was also detained during a raid into Kafr Qaddum village, east of Qalqiliya.

The raids came as Palestinians continue to rally in solidarity with hunger-striking prisoners.
