Israeli High Court rejects appeal to release striking prisoners

RAMALLAH, December 12, 2016 (WAFA) – The Israeli High Court rejected Monday an appeal for the release of two Palestinian prisoners who have been on hunger strike since September 25, according to the Prisoners’ Affairs Commission.

It said in a statement that the court did not care for the deteriorating health of Anas Shadid and Ahmad Abu Farah.

The two prisoners went on hunger strike to demand their release from administrative detention. They are currently kept at Asaf HaRofeh hospital in Israel.

The commission had appealed to the High Court to release Shadid and Abu Farah to get treatment at a Palestinian hospital in Ramallah.
