GAZA, December 12, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli navy units coasting along the Gaza shores Monday opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats while trying to fish few miles into the Gaza sea, according to local sources.
The shooting forced the fishermen to return to shore without getting a chance to continue fishing, which is what they do for a living. There were no reports of injuries.
As part of its 10-year long siege of the Gaza Strip, Israel s fishing for Gazans to six nautical miles only but often navy boats would not allow them even to sail that deep into the sea.
