HEBRON, December 7, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli military forces confiscated early Wednesday installations to put up solar panels in Masafer Yatta villages to prevent a local resident from installing the panels, according to a local official.
Coordinator for the anti-settlements committee in Hebron, Rateb Jbour, told WAFA that soldiers seized installations for solar panels provided as humanitarian assistance in the village of Sousia, south of Hebron.
Soldiers also ordered Zuhair al-Qadi to demolish a water cistern and a retaining wall he had built on his land in Khilat Ghazwa, said Jbour.
Israel prevents Palestinians living in Area C, which makes up more than 60 percent of the area of the West Bank and which is under full Israeli military control, from building anything on their lands.
At the same time, it builds Jewish-only settlements in this area prompting Palestinian officials to warn that Israel intends to eventually annex Area C.
The European Union had also criticized Israel for demolishing installations and structures provided as humanitarian assistance to help Palestinians living in these areas.
