Palestinian agency provides medical knowhow to Zimbabwe

HARARI, ZIMBABWE, December 5, 2016 (WAFA) - The Palestinian International Cooperation Agency, PICA, launched on Monday the first stage in its medical cooperation with Zimbabwe, according to a statement.

It said the medical cooperation includes orthopedic surgery and children chiropractic and it comes as part of a program of solidarity through development in Africa and in cooperation with UNDP and the Islamic Development Bank.

The one-year program was requested by the Zimbabwean Ministry of Health since chiropractic treatment is not available in that southern Africa country.

The program includes training Zimbabwean medics and medical students in these fields, said the statement.

PICA was established by a presidential decree in 2016. It uses the Palestinian knowhow in multiple sectors and aims to deliver aid development and technical assistance to developing countries with the goal of promoting South-South Cooperation.
