RAMALLAH, November 29, 2016 (WAFA) - PLO Executive Committee Member Hanan Ashrawi met Tuesday with Swedish Consul General Ann-Sofie Nilsson at the PLO Headquarters in Ramallah.

Both parties reviewed Palestinian-Swedish relations, the latest Palestinian political developments and the alarming escalation of Israeli violations, including Israel‘s summary executions, its demolition of Palestinian homes and the expansion of its illegal settlement enterprise in and around Jerusalem.

Ashrawi and Consul General Nilsson also discussed plans for Ashrawi‘s official visit to Stockholm next spring in which she will meet with Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström and other Swedish officials.

Ashrawi also met with Egyptian Ambassador Sami Sa‘ed and welcomed him to Palestine.

The discussion focused on current regional developments, the role of Egypt and the internal situation in Palestine, including the 7th Fatah Conference and the prospects for the Palestinian National Council convening in the near future, as well as bilateral relations and future cooperation between Palestine and Egypt.
