RAMALLAH, November 28, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Monday issue on Israeli officials inciting against the Palestinians for the fires that raged in Israel in the last few days and calls from Israeli ministers to expand settlements in the West Bank and to demolish homes of alleged perpetrators as a response.

Al-Quds daily said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to punish those he claimed were responsible for the fires.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said that Netanyahu and his ministers are “igniting the fire of racism”, while al-Ayyam said Israeli ministers are calling for expanding settlements and to increase rate of demolition of Palestinian homes in a response to fires.

The other subject highlighted in the three dailies was the Fatah conference scheduled to start on Tuesday in Ramallah. The papers included various reports on the conference with al-Quds saying that presidential secretary general Tayyib Abdul Rahim planning to run again for the position in the Central Committee.

Al-Ayyam quoted Fatah Central Committee member Mahmoud Aloul saying, “We want to come out from the Fatah conference stronger and more able to give.”

The dailies focused on the situation of two Palestinian hunger striking detainees in Israeli Jails. The head of the detainees commission Issa Qaraqi’ said that the two detainees are fighting for their lives in Israeli prisons.

The dailies also focused on provocative tours by Jewish fanatics of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, as well as settlers seizing Palestinian-owned lands.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported that Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri had met with the French envoy to the peace conference, Pierre Vimont, and discussed with him issues related to holding the conference before the end of this year.

Al-Quds reported that Israeli forces imposed closure on many Palestinian villages north of Ramallah under the pretext of fires that erupted in a nearby settlement.
