RAMALLAH, November 24, 2016 (WAFA) – Palestinian firefighters were able to contain early Thursday fire that raged in trees and open land in the Ramallah-area villages of al-Janiyeh and Ein Qinya, according to civil defense reports.
They said firefighters worked for five hours to contain the fire that started in Ein Qinya and later spread to nearby al-Janiyeh due to high wind.
The civil defense said its firefighters were able to put off the fire and protect nearby homes but not before more than 400 square kilometers of land were gutted in the blaze.
