Israeli Forces Detain Nine Palestinians in West Bank Raids

HEBRON, June 7, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday detained at least nine Palestinians in predawn raids across the West Bank, said security sources and Palestine Prisoner’s Society.

Forces raided Surif town, northwest of Hebron, in the southern West Bank and detained four Palestinians identified as Rafe‘ Abu-Fara, 32, ‘Ala Abu-Fara, 21, Mahmoud al-Hih, 31, and Osaid Abu-Khdeir.

To the north of Hebron, forces handcuffed and detained a Palestinian after storming and thoroughly ransacking his family house in Beit Fajjat town, south of Bethlehem.

The detainee was identified as Muhammad Taqatqa, 25.

Israeli military vehicles raided the town from its eastern entrance and deployed in the Sahlat-Eid and al-Muthalath areas, sparking clashes with local youths.

Troops fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades toward local houses in al-Ahmar mosque and the western neighborhood.

Meanwhile, four Palestinians were detained as they crossed al-Jarushiya military checkpoint, north of Tulkarem in the northern West Bank.

The detainees were identified as Yousef Khalil, 36, from Attil town, northeast of Tulkarem, Nasrallah Awfa, 24, and Basem Awfa, 33, both from Tulkarem refugee camp, and Fadi Jarrar from Tulkarem city.
