BETHLEHEM, April 6, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday morning stormed and took measurements of two Palestinian houses in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, in the southern West Bank, said a local activist.
Coordinator of Local Anti-Wall and Settlement Committee Ahmad Salah said Israeli troops stormed and took measurements inside two Palestinian houses in the al-Khader neighborhood of Abu-Sud, west of the town.
He added that troops inspected the identity cards for the family members of the house owners identified as Mahmoud Mousa and Ahmad Abul-Hatab.
He noted that several houses in this neighborhood are threatened with being demolished as a result of their adjacency to Israeli bypass Road 60, which runs near a compound of public schools in the old town of al-Khader.
Israel has constructed Road 60 and Road 375 that cut through the town and extend for 6.25 kilometers on its territory in order to connect the neighboring settlements of Efrat and Neve Daniyyel with each other.
Al-Khader is an agricultural town known for its grape vines. Israel has seized thousands of acres of the town’s land for settlement construction.
Following the construction of the Israeli wall, farmers’ access to their remaining land has been obstructed as they need to take long mountainous routes to harvest their crops and tend their fields.
