RAMALLAH, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said Wednesday that the Israeli Knesset’s call for the occupation government to annex and impose sovereignty over occupied Palestinian land is rejected and condemned.
He stressed that the call violates all resolutions of international legitimacy and international law, which affirm that the only path to achieving peace and stability lies in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and that all Israeli colonial settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian Territory are illegal under international law.
He warned that such dangerous calls to annex occupied Palestinian land represent a challenge to the will of the international community to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution and UN resolutions, which affirm the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The presidency spokesperson further stressed that the only way to peace and security is by recognizing the Palestinian people’s rights to freedom, independence, and self-determination over their entire national land.
