GAZA, July 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that people in Gaza, including UNRWA colleagues, are fainting due to severe hunger. “They are being starved.”
In a post on X, UNRWA renewed its call to lift the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip and allow the entry of humanitarian aid to end the famine, stating: “Lift the siege. Allow UNRWA to bring in food and medicines.”
It added: “UNRWA alone has thousands of trucks in neighbouring countries waiting to enter Gaza – banned by Israeli Authorities from entering since March.”
The agency confirmed that people, including children, are dying due to acute malnutrition.
“The siege must be lifted now to allow our lifesaving humanitarian aid in,” said UNRWA.
