BETHLEHEM,
October 6, 2015 (WAFA) – A general strike is observed across Bethlehem on
Tuesday to protest and mourn the killing of 13-year-old boy who was shot dead
by Israeli forces during confrontations on Monday.
Businesses,
schools, and institutions of high education remained closed across the city after
various Palestinian factions called for a general strike on Tuesday.
Abdul-Rahman
Shadi Mustafa, 13, was seriously injured when Israeli soldiers shot him with
live ammunition in the chest while returning from school amidst violent clashes
in Aida refugee camp to the north of Bethlehem on Monday.
The
shooting of Mustafa came less than 24 hours after another Palestinian youth was
killed by the Israeli army in Tulkarem.
He
was transferred to Beit Jala hospital
before he succumbed to his wounds during a surgery to save his life.
The
funeral procession was set to leave from Beit Jala Tuesday noon and make its way toward a cemetery near the
refugee camp.
