RAMALLAH,
August 1, 2015 (WAFA) – A Palestinian teenager Saturday succumbed to critical wounds
he sustained after being shot by Israeli forces late Friday during clashes at
‘Atara Israeli military checkpoint to the north of Ramallah.
Laith
al-Khaldi, 17, a Palestinian from the Jalazone refugee camp near Ramallah, was
shot with a live bullet before being rushed to Palestine Medical
Complex in Ramallah, where he succumbed to his injuries after undergoing two
surgeries.
Several
other Palestinians were reportedly injured with rubber-coated steel bullets
during the clashes.
The
clashes erupted during a march in protest of the Israeli settlers’ arson attack
that led to the killing of an 18-month-old toddler, Ali Dawabsheh, in
the Nablus village of Duma.
Israeli settlers Friday burnt Dawabsheh to death
and seriously injured his father, Sa‘ad, his mother, Riham, together with his
4-year-old brother, Ahmad, causing them third degree burns.
Earlier
Friday, a Palestinian teen was killed and another injured after they were
targeted by Israeli forces near Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli
forces stationed in military watchtowers along the border to the north of Beit
Lahiya opened fire on Muhammad al-Masri, 17, claiming his life and injuring
another.
The
two teens were rushed into Kamal Odwan Hospital, where al-Masri was pronounced
dead and the other teen’s medical condition was described as moderate.
To
be noted, the killing of teenager al-Khaldi, brings up the total number of Palestinians
who were killed during the past 24 hours to three.
