TOKYO, July 31, 2015 (WAFA) – The Japanese government
Friday 'deeply deplored' the Israeli government’s decision to approve the
construction of some 800 illegal housing units in illegal settlements built in
the west Bank and Jerusalem.
In an official statement, the Foreign Press Secretary of Japan's
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yasuhisa Kawamura, affirmed that settlement activities
are a violation of international law. He added that Japan has continuously
called on Israel to freeze all settlement activities.
The Japanese government strongly called on Israel to refrain from any unilateral actions that doesn't contribute to the resumption of peace negotiations. It further called on Israel to desist from building more illegal housing units in order to salvage the peace process.
