BERLIN, July 31, 2015 (WAFA) – The Government of Germany
Friday condemned in the strongest possible terms the arson and killing of a
Palestinian toddler at the hands of Israeli settlers in Nablus at dawn.
Described as an “inhuman act of terrorism”, the government
said the brutality with which the families were attacked with incendiary
devices in their homes is shocking.
In a press release published on the German Federal Foreign
Office website, the government said, “We share the families’ grief over the death
of a small child.'
It also welcomed Israel’s condemnation of the attack and
giving “the highest priority to finding the perpetrators.”
Israeli settlers killed an 18-month-old Palestinian baby,
identified as Ali Dawabsha and seriously injured his entire family, during an
attack that targeted two homes in the village of Duma, south of Nablus. The
attackers used highly flammable firebombs and burnt two homes; one entirely and
the other partially.
The toddler’s father, Saad Dawabsha, his mother Riham and his
4-year-old brother Ahmad sustained third degree burns and were transferred to
several hospitals in the city of Nablus at first, then to Israel’s hospitals to
receive immediate medical care.
The father and mother remain under intensive care as their
injuries were described as critical.
