NABLUS, July 31, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Friday
killed an 18-month-old Palestinian baby and seriously injured his entire
family, during an attack that targeted two homes in the village of Duma, south
of Nablus.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors
settlement activities in the West Bank, identified the baby as Ali Saeed
Dawabsheh who died in the arson, which was deliberately started by Israeli
settlers.
The baby’s father, Sa’ad Dawabsheh, his mother Riham and his
4-year-old brother Ahmad sustained third degree burns and were transferred to
several hospitals in the city of Nablus to receive immediate medical care.
Daghlas said a group of masked people believed to be
Israelis from a nearby settlement came to the village, and attacked the two
homes closest to the village’s entrance. They smashed the window of the bedroom
in one house and hurled a firebomb inside, burning the premises.
While Sa’ad Dawabsheh’s house was severely damaged, the
other house, which belongs to Ma’moun Dawabsheh was partially torched.
Palestinians believe those behind the attack are settlers,
because racist graffiti in Hebrew was spray-painted on the burnt houses. Israeli settlers regularly mark their attacks
by spray-painting extreme religious and racist slogans.
