RAMALLAH,
May 13, 2014 (WAFA) – Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) said, in a
statement on the 66th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba,
that the Israeli government undermined peace by disclaiming the Palestinian
national rights, including the right for statehood and the right of return of
the refugees.
“Although
the Palestinian national movement, represented by the PLO which is the sole
legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, gained international
legitimacy, Israel still undermines the basis of the Palestinian state,” said
the PLO statement.
Despite
the fact Palestinians exerted maximum efforts to make peace a success and to
advance the two-state solution, Israeli far-right dismissed the Palestinian
national rights, said the statement.
The
statement recalled the suffering of hundreds of thousands Palestinian who,
during the Nakba in 1948, were forced out of their land and homes by Jewish
organizations, and are still living in camps in
the Diaspora until this moment.
