TULKARM, August 13, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces on Thursday issued demolition notices for a residential building and three homes, including one under construction, in the village of Kafr Sur, south of Tulkarm.
Fawwaz Hamza, head of the Kafr Sur village council, told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the village and handed out four demolition notices. They targeted a 10-story residential building, two villas, and a home under construction, all belonging to local Palestinian citizens.
The targeted structures are located in the western part of the village, near the Israeli segregation wall, which has consumed large areas of Kafr Sur's land. Hamza said the homeowners possess the required ownership documents and permits, and that the properties are located in Area B.
The demolition notices give the homeowners one week to file objections, Hamza said, warning that the measure could displace entire families and deprive them of their homes and stable living conditions after years spent preparing and building their properties.
He said the notices have raised residents' concerns over a possible escalation of Israeli measures against the village, particularly in areas near the segregation wall, accompanied by increased restrictions on residents and targeting of their properties and agricultural land.
