RAMALLAH, August 13, 2026 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that the weather today, Thursday, will be hot and dry in mountainous areas and very hot in the rest of the country. A slight drop in temperatures is expected, though they will remain around 3°C above the annual seasonal average.
Winds are predicted to be westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, becoming active at times, while the sea waves will be light to moderate.
Tonight, the weather will be warm in most areas. Winds will remain northwesterly, light to moderate, becoming active at times, with light to moderate sea conditions.
On Friday, hot conditions will prevail in mountainous regions, while remaining very hot in other areas. Temperatures will drop slightly further, staying about 2°C above the seasonal average. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, and sea waves will remain light to moderate.
While on Saturday, hot weather is anticipated in the mountains and very hot in other regions, as temperatures rise to become roughly 4°C above the annual seasonal average. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, with light to moderate sea waves.
However, on Sunday, temperatures will drop slightly, remaining around 3°C above the seasonal average. Conditions will stay hot in mountainous areas and very hot across the rest of the country. Winds will blow southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times, and sea waves will be light to moderate.
The PMD cautioned citizens against direct exposure to sunlight for extended periods, particularly during peak heat hours between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The PMD also warned against setting fires in areas with dry vegetation and leaving children or the elderly inside closed vehicles, advising the public to drink plenty of water and fluids.
