QALQILYA, July 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday demolished Palestinian-owned residential and agricultural structures in the village of Imatin, east of Qalqilya, according to a local source.
Fathi Ghanem, Head of the Imatin Village Council, reported that the occupation forces escorted a bulldozer to the Wadi Abu Younis area, also known as Wadi Ar'our, south of the village, where the heavy machinery tore down structures covering an area of approximately 20 dunums that had been serving 22 families, despite their presence in the area for more than 25 years.
Ghanem explained that the demolished structures included sheep pens, agricultural storage facilities used for fodder and equipment, as well as residential shelters, all built from metal frames and corrugated metal sheets. He noted that the initial losses are estimated at hundreds of thousands of shekels.
He added that the area is located in Area C and has been subjected to continuous pressure by the Israeli occupation authorities due to its proximity to the colonies of Emmanuel and Gilad, built on village land. He noted that the affected families had previously received evacuation notices.
He pointed out that the demolished structures belonged to the al-Jahalin, Hamadin, and Saray'a families, adding that the affected families have now been left without shelter or a source of livelihood after relying on sheep herding and agriculture to support themselves.
