RAMALLAH, March 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh welcomed the activation of the 1950 Joint Arab Defense and Economic Cooperation Treaty, considering it an important framework for strengthening Arab solidarity and safeguarding Arab national security in the face of challenges threatening the region's stability.

Al-Sheikh emphasized that activating the treaty comes within the framework of supporting joint Arab action and is consistent with the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
