HEBRON, October 23, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained two Palestinians in Hebron governorate, in the occupied West Bank, on Friday and closed all entrances and exits to the area.
Palestinian security sources told WAFA that the detainees were identified as Jamal al-Din al-Huraybat, from the village of Beit al-Roush, southwest of Hebron, and Mohammad Zaitoun al-Halaika, from the town of al-Shuyukh, east of the city.
The sources added that Israeli forces raided several homes in al-Arroub refugee camp, searched them and ransacked their contents. No detentions were reported during the raids.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli forces closed checkpoints and iron gates at all entrances and exits to the governorate, completely preventing Palestinian residents from moving between areas.
The closures followed an incident earlier on Friday in which Israeli forces opened live fire at two young men at the northern entrance to Hebron, injuring them. Preliminary reports indicated that both may have been killed.
