Israeli forces detain 11 Palestinians, ransack dozens of houses across West Bank

HEBRON, March 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Friday detained 11 Palestinians and ransacked dozens of houses across the occupied West Bank, according to security and local sources.

They said that the gun-toting soldiers showed up at a house in Hebron City, conducted a thorough search, and rounded up an occupant.

The occupation forces rounded up three men and searched their families’ houses in Dura city, as well as in the al-Fawwar refugee camp and Bani Na'im town, south and east of Hebron.

In the Bethlehem governorate, the sources confirmed a raid in the Dheisha refugee camp, resulting in the detention of another.

They confirmed a similar raid in Husan village, west of Bethlehem, where the heavily armed soldiers conducted house-to-house raids, ransacking 40 houses and destroying occupants’ mobile phones.

The soldiers turned one of the houses into an observation post, forcing the family out for a week.

Another raid was confirmed in Ad-Doha town, west of Bethlehem, where the soldiers beat up an elderly man, wounding him in the face.

In the Nablus governorate, a convoy of army vehicles stormed approximately a dozen villages, including Ureif, leading to the detention of a Palestinian.

In the Jericho governorate, the soldiers showed up at two houses in the Ein el-Sultan camp, and detained two Palestinians.

In the Ramallah governorate, the sources reported a raid in Kafr Ni'ma town, leading to the detention of three Palestinians.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping, arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

According to the latest figures from Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 9,300 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 350 child prisoners and 56 female prisoners.

This number includes approximately 3,358 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.
