Palestinian Man killed by Israeli police in Ar’ara as crime and violence surge in 1948 Territories

NAZARETH, November 7, 2025 (WAFA) – A 22-year-old Palestinian man, from the town of Ar’ara inside the 1948 territories, was shot and killed by Israeli police today on Route 6513 near Barta'a in the Wadi ‘Ara region.

The Israeli police claimed that the young man was driving an ATV (quad bike) and failed to comply with their instructions, fleeing recklessly and endangering road users while running red traffic lights.

Last weekend, a young Palestinian man was critically wounded by police gunfire during a truck pursuit near Umm al-Fahm.

Twelve Palestinians have been killed by Israeli police within the 1948 territories since the beginning of the year, while authorities have been complicit and failed to fulfill their responsibilities in addressing widespread crime, which has claimed the lives of 219 people, including 20 women, so far this year.

Palestinians in Israel accuse the police and government of discriminating against them and not doing enough to stop crime in their towns compared to Jewish towns.
