RAMALLAH, August 29, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, on Saturday evening.
Amin Abu Alia, head of the al-Mughayyir village council, told WAFA that colonists, accompanied by Israeli forces, attacked the western outskirts of the village, grazed their sheep in the area, and attempted to raid a Palestinian home before locals confronted them.
Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters at residents, with no injuries reported. Soldiers also physically assaulted a woman while she was in the area.
Abu Alia said Israeli forces have kept the village’s western entrance closed since Friday, opening it only for a few minutes at a time. The western entrance is currently the village’s only access point, after Israeli forces closed its eastern entrance in November 2023.
