JERICHO, November 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists forced six Palestinian families on Thursday to abandon their lands in the Fasayel al-Wusta area, north of Jericho, after surrounding the community, according to the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights.
Hassan Mleihat, the organization's general supervisor, said the families were forced to leave today after repeated assaults by colonists. The latest incident involved colonists installing a fence around the area, cutting off access to agricultural land and blocking residents from reaching grazing fields and their primary sources of livelihood.
He added that the families collected their livestock and belongings and left for unknown locations amid fear and uncertainty as colonist attacks continue.
Mleihat warned that these practices pose a direct threat to the presence of Palestinian Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley, exacerbating their social and economic vulnerability. He described the displacement as part of a systematic policy aimed at tightening control over the area and dispossessing Palestinian residents of their land.
The Jordan Valley, which makes up nearly one-third of the occupied West Bank, has seen a sharp rise in colonist violence and forced displacement, especially since 2023. Israeli colonists, often protected by the military, routinely attack Bedouin communities, seize grazing land, destroy water sources, and set up outposts on privately owned Palestinian land.
Over the past two years, several Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley and Jerusalem periphery have been fully or partially displaced due to colonist violence, land seizures, and military restrictions.
