GENEVA, October 25, 2025 (WAFA) – International aid organizations have warned that the danger posed by war remnants in the Gaza Strip could persist for between 20 and 30 years.
Nick Orr, an explosives clearance expert with Humanity & Inclusion, described Gaza on Saturday as a “terrifying minefield without a defined map.”
He said that his team, consisting of seven experts, will begin surveying key infrastructure sites next week—including hospitals and bakeries—to identify areas contaminated with unexploded ordnance.
Orr noted that the problem extends underground, explaining that “if we are talking about a complete clearance, that will never happen. We will continue to find these explosives for generations to come.”
