KUALA LUMPUR, August 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Malaysia has renewed its call for the international community to suspend Israel’s membership in the United Nations and impose sanctions against it.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan said Malaysia raised the issue at the UN General Assembly last year and plans to reiterate the call in the upcoming session.
"It is time to suspend Israel’s membership in the United Nations, and all countries should impose sanctions on it," he stated.
Hasan added that sanctions on Israel would restrict the flow of weapons to the occupying state, noting that the international community has largely called for preventing Israel from implementing its plans to occupy and destroy the Gaza Strip.
