HELSINKI, August 21, 2025 (WAFA) – The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Israeli ambassador to Helsinki on Thursday in protest against Israel’s approval of the E1 colonial plan east of occupied Jerusalem.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the ministry expressed "deep concern" over the Israeli Higher Planning Committee’s decision to advance settlement construction in the E1 area, as well as plans related to the seizure of Gaza.
The ministry also reiterated Finland’s call for the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza in accordance with international law.
The E1 plan, long condemned by the international community, is widely viewed as a move that would sever the northern and southern parts of the occupied West Bank, undermining the prospect of a contiguous Palestinian state.
