Vice President Al Sheikh discusses latest developments in Palestine with Omani Foreign Minister

GAZA, August 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Hussein Al-Sheikh, Deputy President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), held a phone call on Wednesday with Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, to discuss the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian

The conversation focused on the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the escalating violence in the West Bank, including continued attempts at forced displacement—actions that the Palestinian leadership firmly rejects.

Al-Sheikh stressed the need to strengthen Arab and international action to build on the growing momentum, in preparation for holding an international peace conference in New York during the United Nations General Assembly session next September. This conference aims to achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people for freedom and independence, and to have member states recognize the State of Palestine.

He also expressed deep appreciation to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the Omani government, and the people of Oman for their steadfast support of the Palestinian cause.

Both sides reaffirmed the deep historical and fraternal ties between Palestine and Oman, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation in regional and international forums.
