LONDON, August 2, 2025 (WAFA) – British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has condemned the killing of Palestinian civilians waiting for humanitarian aid in Gaza by Israeli forces, describing the actions as “grotesque” and “sick.” He called for accountability from the Israeli side.
In a wide-ranging interview published Saturday by The Guardian, Lammy strongly criticized the Israeli military’s targeting of civilians near aid distribution areas in Gaza.
He called the shooting of unarmed people waiting for food "grotesque" and "sick," and demanded that those responsible be held to account.
According to The Guardian, Lammy said the situation in Gaza is “desperate for people on the ground (Palestinians), and for the hostages (Israelis) in Gaza.” He added that the world is desperate for a ceasefire and for the suffering to end.
Lammy also expressed his wish to visit Gaza as soon as possible, though no specific timeline or arrangements were disclosed.
