LONDON, July 26, 2025 (WAFA) — British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called on Israel to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza by land, warning of a dire and worsening humanitarian crisis in the territory.
In a statement posted to his official X account, Starmer said the situation in Gaza is “desperate” and urged immediate international action to prevent further suffering.
“Israel must allow aid in over land to end the starvation unfolding in Gaza,” Starmer wrote. “The situation is desperate.”
The British Prime Minister revealed that the UK is coordinating with Jordan to facilitate aid deliveries into the besieged territory, as part of what he described as an urgent and expanding effort to address the crisis.
In addition to delivering aid, the UK is also accelerating efforts to evacuate critically ill children from Gaza to receive life-saving treatment in Britain. “We are urgently accelerating efforts to evacuate children who need critical medical assistance to the UK for treatment,” Starmer said.
