NEW YORK, July 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Hundreds of activists gathered on Saturday for a large-scale peaceful march in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, under the banner “Ceasefire Now.” The demonstrators called for an immediate end to the war on Gaza and demanded that the U.S. government halt its military support for Israel.
Participants, representing a diverse array of civil society groups, religious communities, human rights advocates, and concerned citizens, marched in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Many held signs condemning the ongoing genocide and decrying the Israeli policies of starvation imposed on civilians in Gaza.
The Brooklyn demonstration was part of a broader wave of protests that swept across several U.S. cities over the weekend, including Collingswood, New Jersey, and Somerville, Massachusetts. Organizers described the actions as part of a national movement to denounce the Israeli siege and genocide in Gaza.
Speakers at the event urged continued public pressure on policymakers and emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian access and an end to U.S. complicity in the war.
