BETHLEHEM, July 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Sunday closed the only entrance to the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, effectively isolating the community and intensifying restrictions on movement.
A Tuqu’ Mayor Tayseer Abu Mfarreh reported that soldiers sealed the main road leading to the town, cutting off all vehicular traffic and disrupting daily life for residents.
The closure comes amid wider restrictions imposed on the town since the start of the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza. The main entrance to Tuqu’ was previously shut with a metal gate, and seven additional gates were installed across internal roads, fragmenting neighborhoods and obstructing movement between them.
Local officials say these measures constitute a form of collective punishment, impacting residents’ ability to reach schools, medical services, and essential facilities.
