RAMALLAH, July 8, 2025 (WAFA) – Hussein Al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine and Secretary General of the PLO Executive Committee, discussed on Tuesday with an EUBAM delegation international efforts to ensure the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
During a meeting at his office in Ramallah, Vice President Al-Sheikh touched upon the means to reinforce international efforts to ensure the urgent, secure, and regular entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, subjected to an Israeli genocidal aggression since October 7, 2023 which resulted in the killing of 57,575 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 136,879 others.
He briefed the delegation on the grave developments concerning the entry of aid into the Strip against the backdrop of the ongoing famine and deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
The EUBAM delegation comprised the head of the EUBAM Mission, Nataliya Apostolova, the Civilian Operations Commander, Stefano Tomat, the EU Representative to Palestine, Ambassador Alexandre Stutzmann, along with a host of diplomats in the presence of Ayman Qandil, head of the General Authority for Civil Affairs, and Nazmi Mhanna, the General Director of the General Administration of Borders and Crossings.
Al-Sheikh commended EUBAM for its key role, particularly in the fields of training and further developing the professional capacities of staff working at crossings as well as in helping facilitate the entry of aid into the Strip.
