Second Palestinian confirmed killed by Israeli forces near Nablus

NABLUS, July 6, 2025 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Health confirmed on Sunday evening that the General Authority of Civil Affairs had informed it of the killing of Wissam Ghassan Hasan Ishtiya, 37, by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire fire in the village of Salem, east of Nablus, and that they had detained his body.

The occupation forces stormed the village of Salem and surrounded two houses on its eastern side, firing live ammunition.

This resulted in the killing of Qusay Nasser Mahmoud Nassar, 23, who was transferred to Rafidia Governmental Hospital. Ishtiya was injured and detained while wounded before being pronounced dead.

A 62-year-old Palestinian citizen was also wounded by live ammunition and transferred by Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) ambulance crews to the hospital.

The head of the Salem Village Council, Adli Ishtiya, told WAFA that Israeli occupation forces stormed the town and surrounded two houses on its eastern side, amidst the sounds of gunfire. This coincided with the arrival of additional military reinforcements.

He added that clashes erupted between citizens and the occupation forces, during which the latter fired heavy live ammunition at civilians and their homes.

The Red Crescent Society reported that its crews received the body of Qusay Nassar from inside one of the two besieged homes in the village and transported him to the hospital.

In parallel with the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation army and colonists escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, resulting in the killing of approximately 1,000 citizens and the injury of approximately 7,000 others, according to official data.
