Israeli authorities issue demolition, stop-work orders targeting vital Palestinian structures in Hebron

HEBRON, July  1, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Tuesday delivered demolition and stop-work orders targeting several Palestinian structures in the Iskaka community southeast of Yatta, in the southern West Bank governorate of Hebron.

According to anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamra, the occupation issued a final seven-day demolition notice against Palestine Basic Co-educational School, which serves approximately 130 students from grades one to four. The school, built of bricks and tin sheets, also includes a kindergarten.

Israeli forces issued a halt-work order against a water pipeline supplying the Iskaka area and neighboring communities. Makhamra  affirmed that the move threatens residents’ daily access to water and further exacerbates already dire living conditions.

Additionally, a demolition order was handed to Ibrahim Mahmoud Abu Subha for his two-story, 300-square-meter home. Another notice was issued to Mohammad Ayyed Abu Subha to stop construction on his 140-square-meter house.

Further stop-work orders affected homes belonging to Raafat Rizq Al-Shamasti (140 square meters), Omar Hamad Al-Nawajeh (a two-story, 400-square-meter house), and Riyan Mohammad Abu Subha (a two-story, 300-square-meter house).

These measures are part of  Israel’s ongoing policy of targeting Palestinian residential communities and depriving them of their most basic rights, in a parent attempt to displace residents and expand illegal colonies.
