At least 20 Palestinian civilians killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza amid worsening humanitarian crisis

GAZA, July 7, 2025 (WAFA) – At least 20 Palestinians were killed and  dozens injured in a series of Israeli air and artillery strikes targeting multiple areas across the Gaza Strip since early Tuesday morning, according to medical sources.

The sources reported widespread destruction of residential buildings and homes, as emergency crews continued efforts to retrieve victims and provide medical assistance under increasingly dire humanitarian conditions and severe shortages of medical and relief supplies.

Seven civilians were reportedly shot dead by Israeli forces while waiting for humanitarian aid in central Gaza — a tragic incident that underscores the growing desperation and danger faced by residents under blockade.

In Gaza City’s al-Zaytoun neighborhood, one person was killed and others injured in a targeted shelling, while another civilian was killed in a separate strike in central Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

Israeli forces also destroyed an entire residential block in the town of al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis, causing massive devastation and displacing numerous families.

Heavy artillery shelling continued in eastern Gaza City, particularly along al-Sikka Street in the al-Zaytoun area, accompanied by gunfire from Israeli military vehicles.

Meanwhile, an Israeli drone strike targeted a group of civilians near a humanitarian aid distribution point on al-Tina Street in southern Khan Younis, leaving several injured.
