JERUSALEM, June 27, 2025 (WAFA) – The European Union has warned that the situation in the occupied West Bank is deteriorating rapidly, citing a sharp escalation in settler violence in recent days.
In a statement issued on Friday, the EU said that the past few days have seen a significant spike in attacks by Israeli settlers, including acts of intimidation and the destruction of Palestinian homes and property. The statement cited the killing of three Palestinian civilians by Israeli settlers in the village of Kafr Malik, near Ramallah, on Wednesday as one of the most serious recent incidents.
The EU called for an immediate end to these assaults and urged Israel to take “concrete measures to prevent settler violence against Palestinians and to ensure accountability for those responsible, especially under the current difficult circumstances.”
Reaffirming its position, the EU reiterated that Israeli settlements are illegal under international law and constitute a major obstacle to peace.
