HELSINKI, May 23, 2025 (WAFA) — Finland has summoned the Israeli ambassador to its Ministry of Foreign Affairs following a serious incident in which Israeli occupation forces opened fire on 35 international diplomats in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday.

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen condemned the shooting in a press statement, calling it a "serious incident that must be condemned."

She emphasized that Finland has requested a formal explanation from Israel regarding the attack and has conveyed its concerns directly to the Israeli ambassador in Helsinki.

The Finnish Foreign Ministry said it also expressed deep concern to the ambassador regarding the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip during the meeting.
