CAIRO, March 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad Mustafa, met with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly, in Cairo on Sunday to discuss ongoing efforts to halt the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The meeting was attended by Omar Awadallah, the Palestinian Authority's (PA) assistant foreign minister, and Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt, Diab al-Louh.
Mustafa emphasized the importance of compelling Israel to implement a ceasefire in Gaza, considering it a critical step towards facilitating early recovery efforts and reconstruction.
The two sides also discussed joint efforts in coordination with several Arab and Islamic countries, as well as key international actors, in preparation for an upcoming conference on the reconstruction of Gaza.
For his part, Madbouly stressed the necessity of securing a ceasefire as an essential condition to stop the Palestinian bloodshed, paving the way for recovery and reconstruction, while ensuring that citizens remain on their land in Gaza.
He also highlighted Egypt's reconstruction plan for Gaza, which was developed in coordination with Palestinian leadership and approved at the recent emergency Arab League summit in Cairo, noting that it would involve intensive coordination with regional and international parties to ensure its optimal implementation.
