ANKARA, March 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee met Wednesday with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara.

During the meeting, al-Sheikh and Fidan discussed political developments on the Palestinian arena, ways to stop the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, and the need to consolidate the Gaza ceasefire.

Al-Sheikh briefed the Turkish Foreign Minister on the Palestinian leadership’s efforts aimed at ending the suffering inflicted upon the people of the Gaza Strip, particularly that Israel continued to breach the ceasefire agreement and killed hundreds of civilians in 24 hours.

He expressed his gratitude to Turkey for its position in support of the Palestinian question in international forums.

 For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister reiterated his country's position in support of the Palestinian people’s aspirations to establish an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
