RAMALLAH, January 31, 2025 (WAFA) - The National Center for Curricula Board of Directors held an in-person and virtual meeting on Thursday to discuss the frameworks regulating the development of the center.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Amjad Barham, in the presence of the council members representing various educational, academic specializations, and community sectors.
The meeting reviewed future trends for developing curricula based on the results of national and international studies. Such a review was conducted in line with national priorities, system of values, and collective identity while keeping pace with global advances in educational and digital fields.
In addition, the discussion focused on enhancing critical and creative thinking in curricula and integrating sustainable development goals to foster essential life skills among students. The participants discussed forward-looking visions and future trends, emphasizing the importance of linking these perspectives to developing the educational evaluation system and developing curricula.
In this context, Barham emphasized that any development must be based on objective and scientific observations, taking into account the harmony between the design of the prescribed books and the educational evaluation system, strengthening the foundation of the scientific research, competencies, and life skills, keeping pace with technological developments, and analyzing the results of Palestine’s participation in international studies and tests and development priorities.
