NEW YORK, December 11, 2024 (WAFA) - United Nations said on Wednesday that one of its top priorities is the delivery of relief aid to the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to 14 months of aggression committed by Israel against the Palestinians, and pointed to problems in coordination, supply and the security situation.
The Humanitarian Coordinator in the occupied Palestinian territory, Muhannad Hadi, said in a press conference, "The delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip is one of our top priorities, and we continue our partnership with citizens until the crisis ends."
He said that, “They are trying to deal with the challenges they face during the delivery of aid, including coordination and supply operations and the security situation in Gaza.”
Regarding the scarce aid entering the Gaza Strip, it "barely covers five to seven percent of the needs of the Palestinians."
Some 95% of Gaza's population, mostly displaced women and children, "pay a heavy price for hunger, disease and cold" as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocide, he said.
