DOHA, Saturday , July 20, 2024 (WAFA) – Qatar welcomed the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) advisory opinion on the ‘unlawful’ Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, stressing that Israel is obligated to end its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territory, inlcuding East Jerusalem.
The Qatari Ministry said in a statement that ICJ’s opinion includes the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, as the court considered that they constitute “one territorial unit, whose unity, continuity, integrity, and respect must be preserved.”
The court also affirmed that Israel is obligated to end its illegal presence on the territory as rapidly as possible.
It affirmed “Qatar's firm and permanent position in supporting the court's opinion, calling on all countries and international organizations not to recognize or provide support for illegal Israeli practices.
