RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 18, 2024 (WAFA) – Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PLO Hussein Al-Sheikh said that the Israeli Knesset’s decision, with a majority of 68 votes, to exclude and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and consider its establishment an existential threat to Israel, confirms Israel's racism and its disregard for international law and international legitimacy, and its insistence on the approach and policy of perpetuating the occupation forever and the absence of a partner for achieving peace on the Israeli side and undermining all signed agreements.

Al-Sheikh added in a post on X posted on his page today that that "all of this requires bold and decisive political decisions from all Palestinian leadership frameworks to embody the Palestinian state as a state under occupation. Countries of the world that are hesitant to recognize the State of #Palestine must recognize it immediately in response to the Knesset’s decision and to protect the two-state solution."

"We call on the Arab brothers to respond appropriately to this dangerous decision. We affirm that the Palestinian state is what remains, and that the occupation is going to disappear and will leave sooner or later," he added.
