NEW YORK, Monday, July 15, 2024 (WAFA) - UN spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, affirmed the continuation of efforts to support the internally displaced persons in the Gaza Strip, saying: "With each new evacuation order, families in Gaza are forced to make impossible choices."
Dujarric noted at the daily press conference that a team from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has taken action to support displaced people from northern Gaza to the south.
Dujarric condemned the targeting of civilians, noting that the attacks carried out in recent days prove once again that there is no safe place in Gaza.
Amnesty International said that Palestinian civilians have faced multiple waves of displacement due to Israel’s relentless nine-month onslaught on the occupied Gaza Strip and the repeated evacuation orders, stating: “Such orders amount to unlawful transfer, a war crime.”
The Israeli occupation forces continued today their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, resulting in the killing of more than 38,664 civilians, mostly women and children, and the injury of over 89,097 others.
Thousands of victims remain trapped under the rubble or scattered on the roads.
