RAMALLAH, Friday, July 12, 2024 (WAFA) - Minister of Education and Higher Education, Amjad Barham, met today with the European Union Representative to the State of Palestine, Alexandre Stutzmann, in Ramallah, where they discussed issues of concern for education and the challenges it faces.
The minister briefed the EU official on the Ministry’s priority in the current period, particularly in light of the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and its effect and implications on the components of the educational and learning process.
He highlighted the efforts exerted by the Ministry to protect the rights of children and students in schools and universities to complete their education and compensate them for what they have lost due to the aggression.
The Minister appreciated the contribution of the European Union and its support for education in many areas, pointing out the importance of dedicating efforts to ensure the cessation of aggression and the provision of the needs that constitute the backbone for supporting and developing education.
For his part, Stutzmann stressed the EU's constant concern to support education, capacity building and exchange of expertise and experiences that ensure the development and advancement of education.
He stressed the EU’s interest in providing all possible means that ensure the protection of education, especially in the face of such challenges.
